Teaching and Scholarly Interests

Megan Timpone (she/her) is a Physician Assistant/Associate and former Registered Nurse who has been a practicing PA for seven years. She graduated from Emory University’s PA program in 2016, followed by a one-year Critical Care Fellowship with Emory University Hospital. Her first few years post-fellowship were spent in a Surgical Transplant ICU, however, she also has 1.5 years of experience as a bedside proceduralist and first assist with General Surgery. Megan is currently practicing pulmonary/critical care at Wellstar Health Systems. For the last few years of her career, Megan has become interested in PA leadership roles at the hospital and state levels. She is on the APP leadership Council Board for Kennestone Hospital and President-elect for The Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. Two of Megan's biggest medical passions are providing healthcare to underserved/underprivileged populations and teaching. She has been combining those two passions, first as a student and then as a preceptor, at Emory’s Farmworker project, which is a service-learning experience for students where they help provide care to Georgia's migrant workers. She hopes to bring her passion for learning, service and teaching into Agnes Scott’s physician assistant program.
